CerclageFix for LCP 4.5/5.0 – Product Information

The CerclageFix for LCP 4.5/5.0 facilitates the internal fixation of peri-

prosthetic fractures with LCP 4.5/5.0, LCP DF and LISS plates, enabling

cerclage wiring or cabling to be performed.

This product is available in stainless steel and titanium.

Indications

• Fractures near a femoral prosthesis.

• To augment fracture stabilisation with plates in long bone fixation,

when the use of screws is contraindicated.

Features/Benefits

• Secure wiring on any LCP 4.5/5.0 plate or LISS plate.

• Can be used in combination with any cerclage wire or cable of up to

2mm diameter.

• Improved fixation compared to conventional cerclage plating.

Technique

1. For a convenient manipulation of the CerclageFix, use the Screw

Holding Sleeve for LCP 4.5/5.0 (314.281) to capture the CerclageFix.

2. Insert the CerclageFix in the selected plate hole using the Screw

Holding Sleeve.

3. The CerclageFix does not have to be locked in the plate. Align the hole

of the CerclageFix with the desired position of the wire.

4. Place the plate on the bone.

5. Insert the screws through the plate using standard AO/ASIF tech-

niques.

6. Note that the CerclageFix for LCP 4.5/5.0 can also be inserted onto the

plate after fixing the plate to the bone.

7. Pass the cerclage wire through the CerclageFix hole and around the

bone.

8. Twist the wire to secure it.
